III: Reading
Week 1
Introduction:
This week you will learn about some basics for
teaching reading. The Basic Reading Inventory (BRI) will be examined as a tool
for reading assessment and you will practice administration and scoring it on
student. The purpose and usefulness of Reading Inventories will be explored.
Everyone will create a blog to use for this course
as a means of sharing information and collaboration.
Objectives
for this week (from Basic Course Information document):

Practice administering an informal reading inventory,
the Basic Reading Inventory.
2.
Synthesize results of the sample BRI in the text.
3.
Analyze results of the BRI you administered to your
practice student.
